#scyTBR: Caroline’s Goals and Challenge TBR

springcleantbrHello! Firstly I’d like to apologise for my tardiness. You know that you are having a busy week when you are two days late posting your goals for the reading challenge that you are co hosting! The combination of new baby, The Bigs off of school for Easter and some serious home renovations have really screwed with my reading and blogging schedule.

A spring cleaning challenge couldn’t have come at a more apt time as there is literally an inch of dust over every surface of my home. The eagle eyed Bookish Brits subscribers among you might notice that the first picture, of my soon to be en suite, is the prior home of my beautiful alphabetised (thanks Faye) bookcase. Fear not dear reader, my books are safely hibernating in waterproof, dust proof (I hope) tough plastic boxes in preparation for their new home in the “study” *cough*Library*cough*.

As a result of the restricted access to my physical TBR and in anticipation of many hours of painting ahead of me I shall be focusing on my neglected ebooks and audiobooks.

Goals
With everything that is going on in my life at the moment my main aim for the challenge is just to carve out some time and try to establish a reading routine, even if that is simply a couple of chapters before bed or a paragraph or two between Mum’s Taxi pick up and drop offs.
During the Spring Clean Your TBR Challenge I would really like to:

* Finish my current audiobook – Ensnared by a G Howard (Currently 11hrs 13mins to go)
* Finish my Current paperback- A Darker Shade Of Magic by V E Schwab (Currently on page 37)
* Finish at least one other E/audiobook
* Finish at least one half written review from 2014 (and remove open folder from my tool bar!)
* Take part in the Twitter Chat (Scheduled for the 17th of April)
* Write at least one challenge update post

Challenge TBR
While my first two “reads” are in progress I would love your input choosing my subsequent read(s). Simply let me know in the comments below or on twitter which books I should prioritise for this challenge.

Audiobook Short List
Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman Narrated by Mandy Williams and W Morgan Sheppard Ok, I realise that this book was only published in March but It feels as though I have been waiting to read this sequel to Seraphina for FOREVER. I have been looking forward to this book for so long I even mistakenly included it in my most anticipated read of 2014 Bookish Brits Video!

This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner Narrated by Callard Harris, Donnabella Mortel and Lincoln Hoppe. Although this book was only published in January of this year I have actually owned a copy (ARC) since BEA14! I loved The first book in this trilogy and I can’t wait to find out what twists and turns Kaufman and Spooner have in store for me this time.

Days Of Blood and starlight by Laini Taylor Narrated by Khristine Hvam Daughter of Smoke and Bone was one of my favourite non 2015 books I read in 2015. I really think that it is about time I got on and finished this trilogy.

Stardust by Neil Gaiman Narrated by Neil Gaiman Despite the movie being one of my favourite films I am ashamed to say that I have never read the book! Not only that but I have never read a book by Neil Gaiman. Ever! *revives reader with smelling salts*

Graceling by Kirstin Cashore Narraeted by Emma Powell I am sure that this confession is also going to cause gasps, particularly when I call myself a fantasy fan, but I have never read a single book by Kirstin Cashore, despite many, many recommendations. I have all three Graceling Realm audiobooks waiting to be explored.

eBook Short list
A Court Of Thorns and Roses by Sara J Maas
Ok, Ok. Look I know that this book hasn’t been released yet but I really, really want to read it soon. What’s more Faye and I plan to buddy read and review it. It’s been such a long time since we last film together that I’d love to do it ASAP.

The Girl With All The Gifts by Carey M. R I have read nothing but good things about this book. One of the reviews was by my favourite author which for me is the ultimate recommendation.

Strange Angels by Lili St Crow has been sitting on my ereader for I don’t know how long! It was originally recommended to be by Cait of The Cait Files (visit her blog here) and ARYA book club fame. Cait hasn’t given me a duff recommendation yet! Whats more it is a nice neatly, completed series which I could really sink my teeth in to.

Pantomime by Laura Lam I don’t know a single person who has read this book and not loved it. Not only is it getting embarrassingly awkward that I haven’t read it when soooo many people have recommended it but a quick click through my Goodreads indicated that I need to be reading more diverse books like this.

Shadows on the Moon by Zoe Marriott I adore Zoe’s Name Of The Blade Trilogy it is witty, original (it has made me want to learn more about Japanese culture) and action packed with an effortlessly diverse cast of characters and so absorbing that I nearly missed my flight!( read my review of book one, The Night Itself, here). I am ashamed to admit that not only have I not read anything else by this fabulous author, but her book Shadows On the Moon, bought back in June 2011, is the oldest unread book on my e-reader

So there you have it, better late than never, my goals and TBR for the Spring Clean Your TBR challenge.
